Early Intervention Colorado Collaboration

EI Colorado LogoTo expand the capacity and available resources of local early intervention teams to utilize assistive technology, a collaborative between Assistive technology partners and Early Intervention Colorado was formed. This program targets children zero through two years of age (up to age three) throughout Colorado.

The collaborative project provides supports for a network of early intervention consultants. These individuals act as a clinical resource for other early intervention (EI) providers and programs in their local communities by providing assessment, consultation and intervention in assistive technology. They are supported by ATP through:

  • Ongoing training and professional development - Training is provided for early intervention professionals from around the state in assistive technology applications for children receiving early intervention services.
  • Technical Assistance - Specialists receive technical assistance through teleconferences, web conferences, and ongoing email and phone support.
  • Loan Bank access - Through the assistive technology loan bank, specialists can check-out equipment to try with children and families.
  • Consultation - Assistive technology Partners staff provide technical assistance to help specialist problem-solve solutions to more challenging questions.
  • Resources - numerous resources are offered via a variety of formats to support the specialists in their work with young children.
